How much?
To put this in perspective the BC North West Under 12 champion does 10 hours a week. (too much for this age) Most of the top group of riders will be doing somewhere around 100-150 miles per week.
Over 16's should aim at 4 sessions and more than 8 hours eg wed/thur/sat/sun
Under 16's should aim at 3 sessions and more than 6 hours eg tues/thur/sat or tues sat/sun
Under 14's 2-3 sessions depending on ability and 4-6 hours eg tues/thur/sat
Under 12's 2 sessions should be enough
